New leisure centre development

We are working on a project to transform Stychbrook Park into a new multi-functional leisure facility.

Our ambitions are to deliver the leisure centre by the end of the year 2024.

Why are we building a new leisure facility?

We need to replace the current ageing Friary Grange Leisure Centre and give residents a safe, exciting community facility. Although significant repairs have been carried out the building is nearing the end of its useful life.

This new leisure centre is vitally important to the future of the city and the district and represents so much more than just a building.

We know that exercise and keeping fit is of importance to keep health at all ages, and we are committed to investing in leisure activities for all age groups.

We hope that this new facility, alongside Burntwood Leisure Centre, will become a focal point for helping increase participation in leisure and sport across our district.

Find out more about the progress of the project on our development website.

Drop-in sessions

We are holding local drop-in sessions during the full build process so there is the opportunity to meet the project team in person to ask any questions, and see the designs progress from initial concepts, see potential construction materials and how the site could look internally and externally. The next drop-in session will be scheduled in the Autumn and further dates will be confirmed as soon as possible.

If you would like us to keep you updated and to invite you to events as they take place you can complete this short form. Your details will never be passed onto any other third party and we will only communicate with you about the Stychbrook Park development.
