Lichfield District Council is offering 170 FREE leisure activity passes for young people aged between 8 to 17, funded by Staffordshire Commissioner’s Office SPACE scheme.

The passes will be available on a first-come first-served basis, from Friday 21 July 2023 and will be accessible from both Burntwood & Friary Grange Leisure Centres.

Once all 170 FREE SPACE Leisure Passes have been allocated they will be available to purchase for £20.

Passes are valid throughout the summer holiday from Monday 31 July to Friday 01 September 2023.

The passes give access to free activities and sessions throughout the summer.

Getin2it summer activities
Getin2it for young people summer activities offers a range of activities for young people aged 7 to 19 years and are turn up, no need to book sessions – view the timetable.

Activities and sessions will be take place across the district at:

Burntwood Leisure Centre
Friary Grange Leisure Centre
Beacon Park
Various parks, open spaces and community centres across the District
Please contact the leisure centres or Beacon Park to find out activity times and availability.

*Please note that some activities in Beacon Park may require a small refundable deposit for equipment.

The school summer holidays are just a few days away and Lichfield District Council’s Active Lichfield team has arranged a fantastic schedule of sporting activities for children and young people from 7 to 19 years to enjoy over the whole period.

From soft archery, table tennis, football and basketball to volleyball, boxing, dodgeball and multi sports, there is something for everyone hosted at venues across the district including Lichfield’s Beacon Park, Burntwood Leisure Centre, Chase Terrace Park and Armitage Village Hall.

The programme kicks off next Monday, 24 July, and most of the sessions are free.

As part of the Getin2it summer offer SPACE leisure passes are also available from either Burntwood Leisure Centre or Friary Grange Leisure Centre.

Funded by the office of the Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire and Rescue and Crime, Lichfield District Council is offering 170 free leisure activity passes for young people aged between 8 and 17 on a first come, first served basis.

They give access to unlimited swimming at public swimming time sessions, off peak access to tennis, badminton, squash and table tennis and other activities including the Getin2it summer sessions.

The passes also offer discounted activities in both leisure centres for 12 months after the summer holidays.

Once all 170 free passes have been allocated passes will be available to purchase.

A spokesperson for Lichfield District Council said: “A wide variety of activities are on offer for young people to enjoy through Getin2it over the summer holiday period.

“They are designed to keep participants active and engaged and we hope many will come along and enjoy the sessions on offer.

“There is no need to book – just come along and join in with any of them over the six-week holiday.”

The Easter holidays are just days away and to keep young people occupied an exciting schedule of free sporting activities has been arranged across the district for them to enjoy.

Lichfield District Council’s Active Lichfield team has organised the Getin2it Easter 2023 programme from Monday 3 April to Friday 14 April, featuring a variety of sessions at venues including Burntwood Leisure Centre, Armitage Village Hall, Cherry Close in Burntwood, Chase Terrace Park, Beacon Park and Oakenfield in Lichfield.

Activities include Soft Archery for 7-14 year-olds, SERVES tennis for 7-14 year-olds, football for 12-19 year-olds, Glow table tennis for 7-14 year-olds, Parkour for 7-15 and 16-25 year-olds, Kwik Cricket for 7-14 year-olds and Volleyball for 12-19 year-olds.

A spokesperson from the Active Lichfield team said: “We are delighted to offer a range of free activities for young people to enjoy during the Easter holidays.

“Booking is not necessary to take part and all sessions are delivered by a fully qualified coach. Come along and join in over the Easter break.”
